Getting out of your comfort zone.
This week I feel compelled to share how amazed I was with my wife, Kathy Berlow over the past five weeks. She had entered into a contest to be crowned Ms. Health & Fitness 2021. At the start, there were a minimum of 20,000 women (by my math) and she ranked to the top 32 making it to the semi-finals.
What’s amazing is how Kathy went way out of her comfort zone and put herself out there to the public. First, she had to expose her personal life to the Facebook world. Second, she had to ask people to vote for her and third, even ask people to purchase “Warrior Votes” to keep her in the contest. She did the best she can and had the “Whatever it takes” attitude to do what she did.
The fact is, Kathy was driven by something greater than herself. This gave her the confidence and courage to go way outside her comfort zone. She wanted to be an example to others, to inspire masses of people to live healthfully regardless of age. To give others the confidence and belief they could do anything they put their mind to, even at the bright young age of 51. Kathy had a true altruistic nature throughout the competition genuinely wanting to positively inspire others to be better.
Soooo, I challenge you to find a way to put yourself out of your comfort zone and see who and how you could inspire others. Most importantly, make the reason bigger than you and it’ll be a lot easier to do so.
