What do you mean?

Question? When you are performing a task, do you ever think about the meaning? Grandmaster Kim for a log time has been sharing with us the concept of “Il Il Shin” which means “Be Better Everyday”. Il Il Shin training is not one particular action but a lifestyle on how to constantly improve through meditation, hiking, stretching, drinking green tea, staying positive and more.

One of the key elements integrated in every aspect of Il Il Shin is attaching meaning to what we do. For example, when we have tea, the first step is to rinse the tea leaves. This act represents cleansing your mind and eliminate your bad habits. Another one is you drink the tea, you are fully absorbing your goals. See, everything has meaning and the purpose of Il Il Shin is to constantly reflect on how you could improve. Hence, “Be Better Everyday”

The first step to develop meaning is to be singularly focused on what you are doing. The mindfulness will lead to reflection of what the meaning or significance of the action. This questioning will lead you to understanding what you need to do to improve and “Be Better Everyday. Simple but difficult at the same time.
