Have You Heard Of The Five P

Have you heard of the “Five P’s”?

With the start of the new year and a big focus on following through with my personal goals, I have been a bit hyper-focused on the “Five P’s”…PRIOR PLANNING PREVENTS POOR PERFORMANCE. For me, this means that I need to make sure I proactively allocate the time to work on my goals and not leave them to happenstance.

How do I do it? I schedule time each week towards the goals I set. A few weeks ago I mentioned about the goal of becoming an ADK 46er, therefore I preplan my training hikes ahead of time in my calendar. I have the goal to practice meditation every evening and night, it’s in my calendar. I have the goal of raising $20,000 for LLS through our hike team…(Which we are still looking for team-members), I allocate time in my calendar to work on it. This doesn’t even include business and professional goals I have set which spend time working on it. My Prior Planning!

My point is, by scheduling time each week for movement towards your goals, it will protect your confidence because you see progress while at the same time gives you a road map to achieve them. That is, of course, only if those goals you set are important for you enough, which brings us to last weeks topic, “How Big Are Your Goals?”

Happy Living and remember the “Five P’s”
