How aware are you?

Have you ever given thought to what you are thinking? An interesting question, isn’t it? Another way to ask…are you aware of what thoughts you are having? Have you been able to identify if they were positive or negative, or if they are helping or hurting you?

A lot of times we don’t believe that we could change what we’re thinking, but the fact is we can. The only way to do this is by being aware of what’s going on in your mind not begin with. This awareness allows you to make the adjustment by inundating yourself with something that empowers you.

For example, imagine you’re thinking of a challenge you are facing, feeling discouraged, and giving up on the goal. You are aware of this and decide to play your favorite power song, say to yourself repeatedly, “I accomplish anything I set my mind to!”, and watch a short inspirational video. It gets you out of the negative state and puts you back on track. Sounds weird but I can’t tell you how much this kind of mental sparring has helped me in the past, and continues to help me in my life.

The power of positive self talk is essential when you are trying to accomplish great things.

Oh, I share this because this is exactly what I had to do this week to see things through to completion on some of my goals. It works!
