What are you going to do?
I reflect back to 2008 when I tested for my 6th degree black belt in Korea under Grandmaster BM Kim. After the test, we asked him how we did and he said, “You did very good but it doesn’t matter, what matters is what you do from this point forward.” He explained that we had a goal for our test and we worked hard to achieve it. The real question is how are we going to train when there isn’t a goal in the near future.
I share this story to all of our passionate voters in social media land. Yes, today is Election Day and your candidate may or may not win. Yes, it matters who wins for the country and of course, it is very important. However what matters more is how you, me and the rest of society reacts to the results. That is what will set the stage for the future.
I hope and pray that society steps up and graciously accepts the victory and defeat. We don’t need to add any more drama to the history books for 2020.
