Please take care of the environment.
If anyone knows me, they know that I love the outdoors and being in nature. It gives us mental clarity, connection with our natural environment, and appreciation for the beauty around us. There are so many mental, physical and spiritual benefits that would take a long message to list them all. Many of which I have written about in past articles.
Lately, I have been reading a book on the history of nature in America and I was disappointed to say the least. Why? Because it really became evident that we, as a society have, and continue to, purge the earth of natural resources. Mostly for the sake of increased profits and capitalism. I am definitely not getting political, and am a small business owner/entrepreneur myself in support of economic growth. I think we all could agree that for years, industry has manipulated the world and caused havoc to our environment. So much that I had no idea the magnitude of what has happened. For example, have you ever thought about what happens to all the trash that we create? Is it out of sight, out of mind, right? It was for me until I learned what happens after the trash is picked up from our houses.
I have a great deal of respect for the environmentally conscious folks who work tirelessly to clean up the mess that has been made. I was sharing what I learned to my good friend Joe Badini and asked, what could we do about it? He said, just do our part and educate. He’s right!
Do our part by recycling and thinking twice before we just throw something away. Educate by creating more awareness to people so our children’s children will still be able to enjoy nature as we have. A lot of education needs to be done.
So please, consider to step up your recycle game, think about purchasing things that are less wasteful, and work a little harder to educate about how important showing respect to nature is. Personally, I believe we have limited resources and concerned that if we use them up, Nothing will be left for future generations. Something to think about.
