Do you “Have” to or do you “Get” to?
Isn’t it interesting that when you say you “Have” to do something compared to you “Get” to do something makes a world of difference, even though you will be “Doing” the same thing. The only difference is the energy you put behind your words. Think about it, when you say, “I have to do something”, you are more or less wanting to do something different with your time or you are just plainly, not looking forward to it. For me, a have to is household chores. There isn’t much enthusiasm or passion behind the chores, although I don’t complain about it….mostly. 😂
When you say, “I get to do something”, there is a sense of enthusiasm and excitement in what you are doing. Fortunately, I have a lot of “Get to’s” in my life. I “Get to” teach and train in Taekwondo, work with my amazing staff, perform coaching calls in Empowered Mastery, hike, Mountain bike, read, and so much more.
There are certainly things I need to do in my days where I have to shift my mindset to “Get to” do the task. The key is awareness, that you are aware of your words and meaning behind them.
Soooooo, try it! Switch your “Have to” to “Get to” and see how your energy changes.
Happy living!
