Family And Friends Often Say To Me

Family and friends often say to me, when are you going to slow down.

My response is “Probably when I die”. Slowing down is not an option when you love what you do and are fulfilling a greater purpose. Just thus past week, Grandmaster Paul Melella and I drove out to Buffalo for seven hours, had a dinner with our great friend, Master Michael Mertens, woke up at 5:30 and trained, did a full day seminar with our friends at Alliance Advisory Group, drove home in snow, ice and rain for eight hours to get home at 1:30 am. Woke up the next morning, trained, prepared our UMAC Nation martial arts retreat, facilitated the retreat through Sunday and returned home. I loaded my truck with tools and headed up to Stowe Vermont to put windows in my cabin. (And get a little snowboarding in). Am I a little tired, yes? Was I energized throughout, yes? (Except for driving). Why, because it is all working towards making a greater impact and uplifting others. Seeing our clients have breakthroughs and our students become black belt is unbelievably energizing.

Point is, I don’t believe that I will ever slow down, but I will be sure to calm down and let these in two moments really sink in. This is why I love what Grandmaster Paul Melella always says, “love life to the fullest!”
