A long time ago when I was working with my father in construction, I was sharing with him a big decision that Kathy and I were having to make. I do not recall what it was, but it was weighing heavy on my wife and I. I talked to my father and he said to me, “Ask my mother”. His mother had recently passed away at the time making the point, you should do it while you can because you never know what the future looks like. As my father left us this week, now when someone asks me about a difficult decision, I will say to them, “Ask my father”.
