Sometimes you need to hustle.
If there is one thing that I’ve never shied away from it is hard work. It is what my parents have instilled in me, and I’ve absolutely done my best to instill it in my children, my students, and my clients. When there is a project to be done, I believe wholeheartedly in putting your head down and pushing as hard as you can until completion. The is only way to do this. That is to eliminate distractions while you’re in action mode.
I say this all the time, and I’ll say it again, but social media is the best productivity killer on the market. Not only does it take you away from what you were doing, but it also shows you what other people are doing, and you’re not. This makes it a double hit on you. You are not only being pulled away from the task at hand, but the feelings of missing out of what others are doing as well. A double whammy.
What does this mean? It means that if you have something you want to accomplish, and is it important to you, you just have to hustle and make it happen. Sacrifice is giving up something of a lesser value for something of a greater value. And if you want to achieve that greater value, it has to be more important than what you may be missing out on, via social media, which may not be reality anyway. I love the saying, and I say it all the time to my children, “Do what others won’t do now so you could do it others can’t do later.”
So if you were to ask me the secret of success it would be the ability to put your head down and get a job done, to hustle when you need and have the ability to get things done, but also enjoy life along the way. Work hard, and play hard. All the while, staying relaxed, Calm, and positive.
Happy living!
