Mid-year audit on your goals.
So here we are already in the second half of 2022 and a perfect time to assess where you are on your goals. Are you ahead of schedule or do you have to make a push to achieve it by years end? I could tell you that having a goal that is important to you will drive you way out of your comfort zone.
One my my goals that I set this year was to be an ADK 46er by the end of the year, which I share with Master Matt Tracy. That is to climb the 46 high peaks in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate NY. BTW, did you know that the Adirondack park is the largest park in the United States and bigger than the next 2, 3, and 4 parks combined. This past weekend I did the longest hike I’ve ever done in one day. Matt and I hiked over 25 miles and climbed over 8000 feet for a 15 hours. In doing so we summited 5 mountains of the 46 and brought us up to 31 completed. It was exhilarating and extremely challenging, but we did it.
If we did not have the goal to complete the 46er’s this year, we wouldn’t have ever attempted that trek. It was the power of the goal and taking an assessment of where we were that drove us to do that monster of a hike.
So now I ask you, where are you on your 2022 goals, do you need to push harder or are you on track. Also, Matt and I (Or I should say Matt did) have already mapped out the next couple of treks so we have a clear path to reaching the goal of becoming an ADK 46er this year.
Happy living and go out there and make things happen!
