Why we need to give more.

How do you feel when you do something kind or good to others? You don’t have to answer because I already know. The obvious reason is you feel amazing, right?

Well, did you know that doing good for others releases the same amount of endorphins (feel good chemicals) into your brain as 20 minutes of exercise? Some refer to it as the “helpers high”. (I read it on the internet so you know it’s true…😂). There is definitely science to back it up and I urge you to do so. The reality is that when you do acts of kindness, charity, or help others, it gives you a sense of purpose and belonging which in turn, makes you feel really good. This is why you see charitable people always so happy.

This past weekend our team at United Martial Arts Centers raised over $30,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Multiple Sclerosis Society. Two organizations near and dear to our hearts. It was an amazing event and to see young students as young as 4 years old preform 1000 kicks to help people they don’t even know shows that our next generation is going to be a great one. The best part is that everyone who participated in the event left feeling great because they knew they made a difference in the lives of others. And truth be told, there is no greater feeling in life.
