Always be a Guest.
I wish more people would have more of a guest mentality. Think about it, when you go to someone's house for a visit, you go above and beyond to make sure you keep things in order and pay extra respectful to their home. Right? I mean, you wouldn’t go to someone's home and make demands, leave a mess, or cause issues, correct? Keeping a guest mentality is how I have lived my life, especially since it was drilled into me by my parents, and Kathy and I have worked very hard to instill those same values to our children.
I believe most people will agree that we should new ourselves as a guest, However, I don’t know if many view things the same when it comes to the environment, I believe strongly that we are a guest of the environment, and the world doesn’t revolve around us. We, as a culture, should do what we can to keep things in order and be respectful to nature, as if we were a guest in someone's home. Think about it, the environment is our home just the same.
What does this mean? As a guest, if you see something on the ground, pick it up and throw it in the garbage. (Even if you didn’t drop it) If you see something out of place, put it back. (Even if you didn’t drop it) If you use it, replenish it, And most important, ALWAYS LEAVE THINGS IN BETTER CONDITION THAN WHEN YOU RECEIVED IT. It’s really not hard to be good stewards of our communities, so please, please do your part. Most importantly, please share this with your children and those you influence.
