It’s My Pleasure

It’s my pleasure.

I just came back from a wonderful trip in Mexico with my family. It was a wonderful trip and we really had a wonderful time. This was the first trip away with some of our adult children and it was awesome! Memorable moments we will all hold in our hearts forever.

Every single server, whether it be at the pool, beach, or dinner would say, “It is my pleasure to serve you today”. One individual names Angel at the Japanese restaurant even went as far as saying, “We are so grateful that you are here giving us the opportunity to work, if you weren’t here, we would have no job, thank you!” I actually got choked up when he said that and of course, my kids made fun of me.

I kind of feel that this is something that is overlooked where I live in NY. (Side note, my daughter Stefanie Berlow wants to bring this concept to Vermont as well). I see many people who work hard but lack gratitude for their opportunity. They dread going to work and may even think they are doing others a favor by being there. Anyone else ever see that?

I know at UMAC, our team always looks at how we could do better by our students and families. We always say, “We are grateful for the trust you give in us to work with your families”. The same is with Empowered Mastery, any client Paul Melella and I work with m, we are truly grateful and honored for the opportunity.

Sooo, please give some thought about how grateful we are to do what we do, and perhaps we should say “It’s my pleasure” in addition to the traditional “thank you”. More importantly, is that we genuinely mean it.
