Do you know what Kintsugi is?
Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery. An extensive process with natural resources to fix broken pottery with gold at its seams. It allows the pottery to be used again and nothing goes to waist with the understanding that the piece is more beautiful after it has been broken.
It is a beautiful art form that completely parallels and relative to today’s world. So many scars, many of us feel broken, overcome by the adversity; however, we will rebuild and be stronger, more beautiful than ever. Especially with the scars left from the pandemic. It will make is more resilient in the future when we come out on top.
I was fascinated by this concept and purchased a Kintsugi kit from Japan a couple of years ago. I spent hours and days repairing a broken tea pot and multiple cups. To this day, it is my favorite tea cup I drink out of because it represents the beauty of something that was once broken coming back to life.
