This past Saturday and Sunday morning, my wife and I had the opportunity to spend time with Grandmaster Byung Min Kim at his home in California. I cannot begin to say how wonderful it was. We spent over eight hours having tea where he was sharing life philosophy, stories and passing down wisdom. There were so many take aways from our time together so I thought I would share what I believe was the most powerful.

He shared that when you master your mind, you could master your life. Something that I had already known and believed, however the takeaway is that it is a process that needs to happen 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. It is a lifestyle shift in that we need to be pro-active in every thing we do from morning routines, to eating, training, working, whatever. When you do so, you will have the ability to be training all the time, and not just when you allocate time. You have the opportunity to be in a meditative state as long as you are acutely aware of what you are doing at the moment. The magic happens when you can control your mind to constantly eliminate negative thoughts, beliefs, habits or actions and be the absolute best version of yourself. More lessons to follow

Grandmaster Kim referred to the Korean term: Sung Myung Sang Sul which means: Mentally and Physical being in top condition.
