It’s amazing on how two people could do the same task and one could make the best of it and the other could dwell on how bad it is. If there is one thing that my father taught me was how to work hard. He owned a complex of houses where he was always working on and maintaining. I was his “sidekick” and was always working with him since I was a young child. If there was a toilet to be fixed, I was doing it with him, if there was a small crawl space, I was the one who went down. Fact is if there was a job to do, no matter what it was, we had to do it and I did the dirty work.
This taught me that no matter what job needed to be done, just do it, do it fast and do it with a smile. If I dwelled in how hard and disgusting the job is, it would last a lot longer and be a lot more painful. Attitude is everything, so choose to approach any project I have with a positive attitude and therefore, I am able to find the best in everything and everyone. I believe by doing so, I will be playing by my own rules and living life on my terms. Of course, anyone could do the same. You may not be able to control what you do at times, however you could definitely control how you feel about it. There’s the little bit of wisdom for the day.
