Take the time to reach out to old friends…So I guess I am going to age myself, however, I just attended my 30th High School Re-union. It is the first one I had ever attended and I am sooo happy I did. The organizers, my former classmates did an amazing job and I was very grateful to be there. Fact is, life is short…very short and time goes fast…very fast. I saw friends that I have not seen for decades.
In fact, my favorite question of the night was, “So, what’s been going on for the last thirty years.” To reconnect with high school friends, and making plans to get together has been extremely uplifting and very exciting. Here is my suggestion for you, don’t wait to reach out to a long-lost friend. Be pro-active and take a glance at your high school yearbook and reach out to someone you haven’t seen for a while. I personally believe this is the true purpose of Facebook, plus It’s a lot more fun than talking politics, that’s for sure!
Simply say hello to them and let them know that you were thinking of them. You will feel great, they will feel great and you will have rekindled a relationship that once was gone. Whether you are a UMAC student or an Empowered Mastery client, put this action step in the to do list and contact one long lost friend this week. For me, this re-union gave me the opportunity not only see friends I haven’t seen for decades, I was able to see the teacher who inspired me to go to school for education and say “Thank you Mr. Rome". The only challenge of the event is I didn’t get to talk to as many as I would have liked. I expressed my vote the re-union committee for an annual high school re-union. Why not? We could make our own rules and get together with people we care about whenever we wish. That’s the beauty of being 30 years older than a high school graduate!😀
