Life doesn’t always unfold as planned. On our current cruise through the Far East, we were supposed to spend two days in Shanghai. But due to political tensions, China denied our ship entry, and we were redirected to Busan, South Korea.

Many passengers grew angry and frustrated and actually blaming the cruise line for something far beyond its control. Yet that anger served no purpose; it only poisoned the experience. I feel bad for people who are so negative and can’t find the positive in situations.

This is where Il Il Shin comes alive. One of its core rules is to avoid anger at all costs. Why? Because anger clouds judgment, blocks gratitude, and robs us of peace.

Instead of resisting, we can accept, adapt, and see the gift in change; another country to explore, another adventure to experience.

Water doesn’t resist; it flows. And over time, its gentle persistence shapes the world around it. We can do the same.

When we let go of anger and go with the flow, we discover strength, clarity, and the calm that comes from true mastery of self.
