“There is no I in Team”. I know it is an old saying and is way overused, however I just Love it; and it is more appropriate than ever. As much as one could accomplish great things on their own, it is rarely done without a team behind them, or more likely, along-side of them. For example, in business, when an individual accomplishes a major goal or receives a promotion, it is never only their achievement. The accomplishment belongs to all the people who have sacrificed their time, energy, support for the individual to earn it. That includes their co-workers, managers, bosses and most important; your family. Let me give you an example. A successful entrepreneur spends countless hours away from the family so the they could build their empire while the spouse is home taking care of the home and family. (Sound familiar, could you relate?)
The individual lands a big deal that really propels the company to a whole new level. Who should be recognized? The entrepreneur or the spouse? I believe both equally. Why, because that Entrepreneur would never had been able to do what they did if the spouse did not take care of the family and free them up. That is teamwork at its best and it is very important that anyone and everyone in business realizes this. In fact, when I talk to Mom’s or Dad’s who take care of the family, I let them know that they have the hardest job of all. Funny thing is, they always agreeJ Words to the wise; when your business accomplishes whatever you set out to do, know that it was a team effort with one holding the fort enabling you to succeed. They do what they do so you could what you do and vice versa.
