Creating internal health and 5 reasons to cleanse

Do you change the oil in your car? How about changing the air filters for your air conditioning unit? Imagine that you didn’t clean out the engine oil or never…ever…ever… clean the air filters for your home. That would be silly right? Well… I am going to bet that majority of people reading this post has never truly cleaned out their own bodies of all the disgusting waste that has been built up for years in their body. Just like we change the oil in our cars and change the air filters in our home… we must clean out our internal engine too. In past posts… I discussed different cleansing options to detox the body… but their is another cleansing process that is extremely important to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

About 15 years ago my wife and I traveled to Fiji to attend a health and wellness program. During the program we learned a tremendous amount of knowledge about the philosophy of health, eating habits and of course….cleansing. Boy did we learn about cleansing… because for that week… all we ate was raw fruits, vegetables and juices. We had our blood work checked, got deep tissue massages and we also learned about and had experienced colonics. I never was overweight and I always considered myself lean and in “good” shape… but within a week… I lost and got rid of about 12 lbs. of unnecessary weight. I experienced a total cleansing and detoxification process that made me feel great. I felt that my mind was sharp… my skin and eyes were clear and I was vibrant. Why Colonics?

A healthy colon is essential to a healthy body. Conventional diets comprised of refined, processed foods high in saturated fats and low in fiber contribute to many problems associated with the large intestine and health in general. The elimination of undigested food material and other waste products is as important as the digestion and assimilation of food.

Waste allowed stagnating in the colon, results in the decomposition of these substances, increasing bacteria and toxins. The colon contains the largest concentration of bacteria in the body. These friendly bacteria provide important functions such as syntheses of folic acid, B vitamins and vitamin K from foods. In the healthy colon, lactobacillus and acidophilus are the dominant strains of healthy bacteria that greatly outnumber the disease producing E. Coli strains of bacteria.

What if you don’t….Waste material allowed to stagnate alters the proportion of healthy bacteria to disease producing bacteria and the potential for disease exists. These bacteria decompose protein residue and other waste matter resulting in the production of toxins.

When these toxins are absorbed from the colon into the circulation they contribute to the production of disease elsewhere in the body. The Purpose…. of the colon as an eliminative organ is to remove the waste material and toxins by mass muscular contraction known as peristalsis. Depending on how much you need to cleanse… and how you currently eat… I would have at least 2-3 done within a shorter amount of time (maybe a day or two apart) For maintenance … I have them done every three months. Actually… having one done today at 12:45pm lol
